Rising Star Camp is a summer day camp and a program of the Winchester Youth Service Bureau. Imagine being a child who struggles to fit in, make friends, or succeed in traditional programs, and then discovering a place where you feel safe, supported, and valued. Rising Star Camp provides that place for children ages 6–13 facing behavioral, emotional, social, and financial challenges. Most of our campers come from Torrington and Winsted, and approximately 95% of families require financial assistance. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience a positive, life-changing summer,
regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

Your gift helps make that possible. Donations support transportation for weekly field trips, admission to enriching activities, nutritious snacks, program supplies, and the small-group, trauma-informed environment that allows campers to receive individualized attention and support. With a staff-to-camper ratio of just 1:6,
children build confidence, strengthen social skills, develop healthy coping strategies, and form meaningful connections with peers and caring adults.
