provide flexible support for arts education programs: creativity for special needs students, Italian arts and cultural outreach, and stop motion, animation, and video

logo“CAFTA believes in us. Will you?”

Our young students are asking our community to stand with them this summer. A secure, inspiring place to go after school shouldn’t be a luxury, yet CAFTA’s Creative Catalyst Programs face a critical funding gap to keep our doors open for these kids. Fortunately, we have a powerful tool to close this gap: thanks to a $30,000 matching grant opportunity through Northwest Corner Gives! From July 1st to July 22nd, every single dollar our community donates will be instantly doubled by the Northwest CT Community Foundation. Your matching gift acts as an immediate safety net, directly protecting our vital post covid related youth programs from budget shortfalls.

100% of your doubled donation will help fund three innovative, project- based afterschool tracks for 36-64 students ages 8–18 across our 20-town service area, including Torrington, Litchfield, Harwinton, Winsted and Goshen. This campaign sustains a specialized Creative Arts track to foster social skills and emotional resilience in neurodivergent and gifted learners; an immersive Italian Arts and Culture experience helps prepare students for global competitiveness and multi-cultural literacy; and a high-tech Stop-Motion Digital Video and Animation program, teaches teamwork and digital competence. Our professional instructors volunteer their time so classes remain entirely free for families. However, rent, utilities, insurance, and software costs are expensive. This campaign bridges the opportunity gap, ensuring lower-income households retain equal access to premium digital and cultural literacy.

The stakes for our neighborhood youth could not be higher. If we do not raise our $15,000 community goal by July 22nd, CAFTA will be forced to slash student capacity by over 50% and possibly completely cancel our technology-driven Digital Video and Animation track. We will have to turn away the very children who rely on our studio to build focus, digital skills, and teamwork. Please stand with Northwest Connecticut’s youth. Mark your calendars for July 1–22, give as generously as you can, and help us unlock the funds to unleash their potential. Their future is your future too!

Our students have big bright ideas—they just need you to help keep the lights on!
