logoMeaningful inclusion is more than checking a box. At T.A.F.A. we thoughtfully design adaptive programs and events with direct feedback from the families that we serve. We take a wide range of needs into account, and spend substantial time planning each holiday and social event to be as accommodating as possible no matter what an individual’s level of need may be. We know the importance of proactively prioritizing this level of planning to ensure that our participants have an appropriate level of support to be successful.

These adaptive holidays and events, like our adaptive prom, allow our families to experience typical milestones and celebrations that may otherwise be impossible to access. By collaborating with other community nonprofits and businesses in our approach, it allows our mission for awareness and inclusion to spread even further; naturally embedding itself in the fiber of our community.

Getting our children and families out into the community generates critical visibility needed for increased awareness. In turn, this awareness generates action towards true equity, inclusion and real opportunities. All of these adaptive holiday events and our prom are offered at no-cost, or extremely subsidized cost. Prior to T.A.F.A., much of this work only existed in areas that were a half hour or further away. We are breaking down barriers of geography, socio-economic status, equity, accessibility and inclusion for local families and individuals on the autism spectrum. Your support of this campaign allows us to maximize our mission work and continue off ering an annual series of five high quality adaptive holiday celebrations, and an adaptive prom experience to autism families in our northwest Connecticut region. These events average over 100 attendees, and the need continues to grow. Thank you for your consideration of generously supporting the work we do at T.A.F.A. as we continue to prioritize the needs of our autism community.
