logoEl Colibri began as a tiny idea — an original jazz ballet inspired by the fable of the hummingbird who teaches us about courage, community, perseverance, and doing your part — one drop at a time. The idea was nurtured by a collaboration of artists: Victoria Mazzarelli (nutmegconservatory.org/victoria-mazzarelli), Kim Scharnberg, (kimscharnberg.com), and Peter McEachern (petermceachern.com). After a workshop run and enthusiastic audience feedback, we’re ready to bring this original jazz ballet to a colorful new level!

With your support, sets and costumes by acclaimed artist Danielle Mailer (daniellemailer.com) will elevate El Colibri into a fully realized production — one we can share not only on stage, but in schools and other community venues across our region and beyond. This expanded production will help us spread the joy of music and dance, and inspire audience members, whether they be young or old, with the message at the heart of the story: each of us can do our part to make the world
around us better.

Join us in shaping the world of El Colibri and see it take flight. We are grateful for your support–it makes all the difference!
