Help Greenwoods Keep Our Promise: No One Turned Away from Mental Health Care
In Litchfield County, the need for mental health care has never been greater—and the resources to meet it have never been more strained. For every two people who need care, there’s only one provider.
Each month, Greenwoods receives a growing number of calls from neighbors in crisis, and our answer has always been the same: we connect them with counseling and addiction treatment, regardless of their ability to pay. No one is turned away. But keeping that promise is getting harder. Federal policy changes are pushing people out of insurance coverage, while the rising cost of housing, utilities, and groceries leaves families with even less room to absorb a mental health crisis.
This year, Greenwoods’ Financial Assistance Fund will help 70+ individuals and families access the care they need—up from 53 last year—covering everything from sliding-scale fees to full session costs for those who have nowhere else to turn.
Your gift to this campaign goes directly to that promise. With a $15,000 grant from Northwest Corner Gives—half from community donations that will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Foundation—every dollar you give has double the impact.
